Most English verbs make the past by adding '-ed'.

Pronunciation of '-ed': after a quiet sound like 'k' or 'p' it sounds like 't' (worked = workt). After most sounds it sounds like 'd' (cleaned = cleand). After 't' or 'd' it adds a small extra sound 'id' (waited = wait-id).
تلفظ «-ed»: بعد از صدای آهسته مثل «k» یا «p» مثل «t» شنیده می‌شود (worked). بعد از بیشتر صداها مثل «d» شنیده می‌شود (cleaned). بعد از «t» یا «d» یک صدای کوچک اضافه می‌شود «اید» (waited).
Add '-ed' to talk about the past
برای گذشته «-ed» اضافه کن

For most verbs, just add '-ed' at the end: work → worked, clean → cleaned.
برای بیشتر افعال، فقط «-ed» را آخرش اضافه کن: work → worked.

If the verb already ends in 'e', add only 'd': live → lived.
اگر فعل به «e» ختم شود، فقط «d» اضافه کن: live → lived.
- 3.
The verb is the same for I, you, he, she, we, they — no extra 's' in the past.
فعل برای I, you, he, she, we, they یکسان است — در گذشته «s» اضافه نمی‌شود.

Dari changes the verb ending for each person (کردم، کردی، کرد). English keeps the past verb the same for everyone — only 'worked', never 'workeds' or 'workedi'.
دری آخر فعل را برای هر شخص تغییر می‌دهد (کردم، کردی، کرد). انگلیسی فعل گذشته را برای همه یکسان نگه می‌دارد — فقط «worked»، هیچ‌وقت «workeds» نه.
